How to Choose Patio Cushions

What attributes should you be on the lookout for as you're buying outdoor pool and patio chair cushions and pads?

Durability is important.

Seek out cushions that have tabs or fabric ties to lock the cushions in place, as this will usually give the cushions longer life and stop them from blowing off the furniture during storms.

Cushions made incorporating zippers are handy for laundering the covers.Another important feature with outdoor cushions, is having a zipper is where you can remove the covering in order to wash it in the washing machine. If the cushion is lined with piping,it will also help it to last longer. The extra cost can often be justified over time by extending their life.

Of couse, one of the most important aspects to think about is their appearance. Be sure to select fabric colors, textures and patterns to complement your decorating flair and other decor.

If you plan on storing away these cushions on a daily basis so that they are protected from the weather elements, then you can always opt for a less durable type of fabric, which will definitely expand your options.

When selecting fabric colors, go with what you're comfortable with, and what colors you like. Neutral colors are good for that contemporary or "safe" look.

If you have a less exciting space, go for bright red colors. On the contrary if you want some clout in your outdoor location, embrace really bright colors. On the other hand, if you live in an area that is very hot, you may instead opt for colors that are more calming and cool, such as blues or purples.

By selecting colors that reflect some of the colors in the cushion design, and investing in added fabrics that you can use to make throw pillows or other pieces in the area, you would be blow away at the impact this can have on the general appearance of the space.
